Lift Tables & Master-jacks for Modular Construction

Barnhart is always ready to provide a lift.  Even though Barnhart has numerous options for vertical lifting, Barnhart developed another one recently that involved needing to lift multiple process piping modules of various size and weights (> 100 ton) up into a client’s manufacturing facility ceiling.  The project involved a series of levels that topped out at over 40’.  To stick build the same equipment would have doubled the project schedule and resulted in significant cost increases.  The project team faced two challenges to overcome.  The mechanical contractor desired to build the modules at ground level which provided easy access for construction and the module would need to be jacked up tight against the ceiling eliminating the possibility of any type of large chain hoists above the structure.  If there was a solution lifting from the bottom of the modules, that tool would have to be less than a foot in overall height. Two tools were created for the project.  The first is what Barnhart has named our MasterJacks.   The tool is basically a large toe-jack that can grab a flange less than 6” off the ground and raise its load to a height of ~ 4’.  To take it from there, Barnhart developed 50kip capacity LiftTables.  The LiftTable has a 25’ long x 4’ wide base that provides both stability and ground spreading, but also the ability to scissor it’s load vertically up ~ 30’.   With various sized modules, the LiftTable gives layout engineers the ability to position as necessary providing an integrated lifting system.  All the MasterJacks as are the LiftTables are hydraulically connected and synchronized to ensure the load is shared equally and is lifted perfectly level.  Customized solutions that meet or exceed our customers challenges is what we take great pride in.
