Turbine Installation

Barnhart has a long history in the wind energy construction market. In fact, we've been involved in the turbine installation of over 68 major wind energy construction and repower projects for over 20 years in North America. With over 7GW of experience, Barnhart Energy has seen it all from ridge top installations that incorporated just in time delivery to the pad, to farmlands with challenging soils in the mid-west. Project Excellence from small single turbine installations or rebuilds to multi-crane projects of hundreds of turbines. Barnhart has also uniquely pioneered several first in the industry… from the first major installation project with turbines over 100m hub height in 2008. And recently, Barnhart also installed the first large MW platforms on the wind energy projects featuring the first GE Cypress 5.8MW turbines in 2023, the first Siemens SG145 4.5MW turbines in New York and contributed to the first Vestas EnVentas 5.6MW project in 2022 down in TX. Wind Maintenance

Barnhart has developed a reputation for excellence, innovation, and reliability for turbine ongoing maintenance and repair. We don’t just offer experienced techs, but strong project management to coordinate deliveries and site civil repairs if needed. We also bring the most diverse tool belt in the industry providing either standard lifting methods using hydraulic or lattice boom cranes to various crane-less methods when applicable. If the turbine has been compromised from a storm or thermal event, Barnhart has the engineering expertise to safely design custom lifting solutions for decommissioning of damaged turbines. We were the first company in the nation to be granted an intermodal contract carrier permit by the ICC.
We’ve been serving the Northeast for 100-plus years.
